52 photo ideas to break out of the habit of saying “say cheese”. in the summer of 2011 i created the documenting life challenge which gave weekly prompts to moms to help creatively capture their children.
week one: favorite summer activity (running through the sprinklers, the pool, eating sno cones, etc).
week two: favorite book.
week three: fresh out of bed.
week four: helping in the kitchen.
week five: the park.
week six: the aftermath of a mess that your child has made.
week seven: the whole family. have a friend/extended family member/neighbor/tripod take your photo of your family as a whole (1/4)
week eight: playing in the leaves.
week nine: pumpkin patch.
week ten: your child in their halloween costume.
week eleven: favorite article of clothing.
week twelve: bath time.
week thirteen: giving thanks.
week fourteen: decorating the christmas tree.
week fifteen: a typical breakfast.
week sixteen: your child’s bedroom.
week seventeen: opening gifts on christmas morning.

week twenty-four: laughing — get some help from someone on this one. try tickling, peek-a-boo, and pull out your bag of tricks to get some giggles.

week thirty-six: having some family fun — riding bikes, bowling, roller skating, miniature golf, etc.
week thirty-seven: getting messy — fingerpainting, allowing them to eat ice cream or an equally messy food (don’t forget to capture the details of the mess).
week thirty-eight: fresh from the bath.
week thirty-nine: with a special family member (grandparent, aunt, uncle, or another important person in their life).
week forty: at the dinner table.
week forty-one: water fun — sprinklers, pool, slip ‘ n slide, etc.
week forty-two: get in the shot: bedtime story.
week forty-three: you pick! who is your child today? what quirk or trait do you want to remember before they grow out of it.
week forty-four: in the car.
