We had a low key Thanksgiving this year and it couldn’t have been more perfect. We have had a lot on our plate and I just couldn’t add one more thing in hosting a group of people.
We spent our morning in pajamas, watching the parade, eating biscuits and gravy, drinking cranberry mimosas (well…at least Mom & Dad), and making handprint turkeys.
It was a gorgeous day so, that afternoon, we sat outside and played Hedbanz, soccer, and just let loose. It didn’t feel like a typical holiday — I didn’t clean our house, Ella wore mismatched clothes, and I didn’t even fix Hudson’s hair or scrub the temporary tattoo off of his arm. It felt SO good to just relax and enjoy the day.
We ordered a turkey, made a few quick side dishes, and dinner was done. My mom joined us in the evening and we sat around the table giving thanks for all of the blessings in our life.
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving with your loved ones!
