We kicked off Christmas break with Ella’s holiday performance at school:
Next, we had Hudson and Ella’s holiday parties at school. Ella was excited to get to attend Hudson’s with me after her own PJ party. The kids sang songs for us, they ate pizza, and decorated cookies:

Santa House came to our neighborhood. It was cutest little pop-up shop with their cottage, hot chocolate, candy canes, and Santa and Mrs. Clause:

Then everything seemed to sort of come crashing down when Ella came down with the flu. Then, Hudson was next. After not eating for two days we were thankful that they were semi-functioning on Christmas Eve in time for our big family dinner.
Grandpa and Grandma arrived that afternoon and we built gingerbread houses with Grandma:

Later that evening my Mom and Sister joined us for dinner.

The next morning the kids were up bright and early.

Later in the week our friends had a couple of extra tickets to the Polar Express. So, Ella and I joined them. We both had a lot of fun — they replicated the movie with the conductor, the hobo, hot chocolate, cookies, a book reading, and even a visit from Santa. It’s definitely something we want the entire family to do next year!
