christmas morning photo tips

like all mothers…we want to capture those special moments this christmas morning. the look of glee on your child’s face as he opens the gift you knew he would love. here are a few tips on how to take better photos this christmas morning:

- turn off the flash!

- open up all of the windows in the space you are shooting in.

- put your back to the light source and have your child be facing the window, sliding glass door, etc.

- if you’re a digital SLR user and don’t know how to shoot in manual mode place the dial on “P” (portrait mode) which naturally chooses a low aperture for you.

- get on your child’s level.

- capture the details of the day (the presents under the tree before the madness begins, small hands unwrapping gifts, and even the state of the living room after everything has been opened).

if you are a digital SLR user be sure to sign up for our mamarazzi of tulsa january class. if there’s one thing we say it’s cameras don’t take good pictures, people do. it’s essential you get to know your camera and some of what it can do to get those great photographs. it may seem daunting at first but it’s worth the effort. there’s no time like the present to learn how to shoot in manual mode, learn about lighting, composition, and how to capture more creative shots of your children. there are only a handful of spaces left in our next class.
