I created these DIY silhouette gift tags while wrapping up our gifts last year. I got so many questions on how I did them that I thought I would walk you through a tutorial so you could make silhouettes for your own children!

Step No. 01: I take my silhouette and resize to be approximately 2 inches tall. (Don’t have a silhouette yet? Use my DIY silhouette tutorial to get to this step).

Step No. 02: Create a new layer.

Step No. 03: On the new layer select the Elliptical Marquee Tool.

Step No. 04: Draw an oval or a circle around your silhouette.

Step No. 05: Create a stroke by going to Edit - Stroke.

Step No. 06 - Select the color of your stroke. And then the thickness of the line (I did 10px).

Step No. 07 - Merge your silhouette and stroke layers together (be sure to NOT include background in the merger).

Step No. 08 - Duplicate the silhouette/stroke layer to create an entire page full of tags.

Then simply print onto paper (I like to use this label paper), cut, and attach to your gifts.
