First day of school

Last week the day I had been dreading for the last year…my last baby started kindergarten. She has been super excited to ride the bus and eat hot lunch like Hudson. Ella is shy and I am thankful that she has a friend in our neighborhood, Logan, in her class.

Hudson is in first grade and in class with 4 of his friends. Kindergarten was a little rough for him getting concepts like staying quiet, obeying his teacher, and that the classroom isn’t play time. I have been praying big prayers that this year’s teacher is a good fit for his strong will. Fingers crossed!

Our first day tradition is hitting up the donut shop for breakfast and then walking them into school.

Hudson was opposed to us walking him to class…but we promised it was only for today. Apparently we already embarrass him.

Ella has been clinging to us when we’ve left her at church lately…so we were certainly expecting that when leaving her with her teacher for the first time. But, she was so brave and excited. She kissed us goodbye (and Mommy’s eyes welled up with tears) and sat down on the mat with her new friends.
