One of the tasks we’ve been working on with the kids this year is how to learn to tie shoes. This wasn’t an easy feat for Hudson and Ella got it right away (which made it worse for him). So, we made this shoelace box so that they both could practice and now they both have it down pat!

Supplies Needed:
- Box lid (I used a Valentine box because we had one on hand but you could use a shoe box lid).
- Ribbon
Instructions:
Cut 6 lines into the top of your box lid. Mine so happened to have an opening so we placed them evenly on either side of that. Then thread your ribbon through as though you were lacing up a shoe.
What worked best for my kids was allowing them to watch a video tutorial. Something other than Mom showing them how! We followed this video at first and while they got the hang of bunny ears and what have you what sealed the deal on them actually getting it was showing them to do it the traditional way.
