This summer our family took our first beach vacation just the four of us.  We have been to the beach many times with Court’s parents living in California and then family vacations with them to Mexico.  But, we’ve never taken a true vacation not visiting family or with family.  We’ve heard so many amazing things about 30A (the strip of highway in which the towns Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, Seacrest, Seaside, and Destin) run along that we had to go ourselves!

Last month we traveled to Orange County, California for 10 days to visit family.  We had a blast on our vacation!

We spent a lot of time with our nieces Harper and Sawyer.  It was so fun watching the kids play together and to get to know them a bit better.

Since we were in Wichita for my Grandma’s memorial service in early May and we needed to be there the following day for a roller derby bout we made a weekend out of it.  We stayed in a hotel with an indoor pool which the kids loved!

For Hudson’s birthday we made our way down to Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas.  This was our fourth visit to Great Wolf and it’s something that our family looks forward to each year.  But before we arrived at the hotel we had to stop at the American Girl store in Dallas.  Santa brought Ella her first AG doll and we wanted to get her ears pierced!

The kids were so anxious to swim and play so our American Girl experience was short lived.  As soon as we checked in we hit up the water park:

Things have been a whirlwind since our California trip last month.  Life has been busy, busy and it doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down any time soon.  If we’re friends on Instagram you may have seen some of these images.

– Hudson is officially enrolled in Kindergarten for next year.  Cue the mama tears!

– One of my best friends got married a few weeks ago and asked me to photograph the event.  But, she threw me for a loop.  You see…she called me on Tuesday and said she was thinking of getting married on Friday.  My type-a mind was blown.  How on earth could you plan a wedding in just days?  Well…she did it.  And it was beautiful.  I was honored to get to capture her marry her love of 15 years and get to reunite with my friends from high school.
